about us

Sam Ward (Wardy)

Sam founded TIKA in October 2011 with Lauren Alexander after injuries pushed him from playing rugby to coaching where he found a passion for helping people.

"We've created an environment where people of all backrounds can come in and put in extraordinary physical efforts in a team training situation. Our sessions are by no means easy but the feeling of satisfaction afterwards is incredible!"

For me the best part is watching people exceed their own expectations and push through what they thought were limitations. Whether its jumping slightly higher or learning a new exercise - our clients walk away knowing they've achieved something special.

I have many people I look up to but the ones who really impress me are people who know what they want to achieve despite the odds and roll up their sleeves to get stuck in regardles of how big the challenge is.

Personally, I think that if people don't laugh at your goals, they aren't big enough. If you know what you want to achieve and you're willing to work for it you will find the help you need at Tika!"

Dylan Windust (Dyl)

Dylan is our resident football guru - he attended Westlake Boys High School, played overseas in Germany, & currently represents Birkenhead United Football Club!

"I enjoy TIKA training because it pushes me to my own personal limits and gives me the confidence to get as as fit as I can - that's what I love about it!

I enjoy helping people get the results they want - seeing people motivated in their training motivates me as well which is the fantastic thing about Tika, the team approach!

I'm a soccer player so my favourites are guys like Xavi from Barcelona & Iniesta, I look up to guys like Rich Froning Jr who was Crossfit champion and am also really impressed by bodybuilders who have the discipline to stick to really strict diet and training plans.

If you're looking at starting training my advice is to just give it a try. Exercise is an important part in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It also feels great when you're finished and don't feel so guilty when you have an ice cream after dinner!"
